"Once-Upon-a-Time in a World of Nowhere-In-Particular” begins our story.
Storytelling predates writing, going back hundreds of thousands of years, verbally describing something combined with gestures and expressions. Eventually moving to cave drawings, carved and scratched wood pieces as well as, ivory and other bones where used. Today it's mass media through the internet, radio and television.

Humans have always been creative and imaginative, I like to call them “Homo Imaginative Sapiens" and ever since mankind had evolved a brain capable of comprehending abstract ideas, along with an extremely powerful creative imagination we have been telling stories.
Eventually some imaginative storytellers invented Gods and Supernatural Beings that had special powers to control certain phenomena, to explain various things such as thunder and lightning or to control people thoughts and behavior. Most of this had to do with not being able to understand the world around them or it was difficult to explain.
These stories were then pasted down from generation to generation and became great myths, superstitions, rituals, morals, traditions and eventually making there way into rules, codes, laws and religions. Some storytellers even went so far as to claim hearing or speaking with so called Gods which made them special amongst the tribes as being or having special powers. This made them the priest of the tribe and elevated them above the other members. This gave them great influence and a special standing, even giving them the power to demand human and animal scarifies.
For thousands of years now these storytellers and priest all over the world have convince people and believers that sacrifices are needed to satisfy there Gods, a form of domination and mind control to influence and control peoples behavior and life style. Moses going to the top of Mount Sinai and receiving 10 commandments which were moral codes everyone was to live by is a prime example and these have become dominant moral codes in western civilization.
For thousands of years mankind has been using the spoken word to communicate. Storytelling has grown a lot over the centuries and its scope and power have as well. From a simple beginning of telling stories around a camp fire to now impacting and influencing every thing we do in life, advertising companies influencing our decisions on what products to buy, media companies deciding what we see and know, political leaders and parties influencing our thoughts on rights and freedoms to religious leaders constantly dominating entire cultures and populations with their mythical stories.
Storytelling started with the human ability to create verbal words that they could associate with in their imagination, either through some idea, thing or action. Today its power is awesome and has been instrumental in creating the “Mind” of mankind.
